The department of Cell Biology-Inspired Tissue Engineering (cBITE) at the MERLN Institute for Technology-inspired Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University in the Netherlands invites applications for a post-doctoral position. A postdoctoral researcher with expertise in molecular biology is searched to join two ongoing projects in the field of regenerative medicine: 1) RegMed XB Kidney Moonshot for which the aim is to differentiate iPSCs into kidney organoids to create a therapy for patients with end-stage kidney disease, and 2) molecular regeneration, which aims to identify and use miRNA and lncRNA to modulate stem cell behavior for regeneration. The candidate would begin with a focus on the RegMed XB project and then would switch to the molecular regeneration project.
RegMed XB's Kidney Moonshot, aims to create a functional subunit of a bioengineered kidney, as an intermediate step towards a fully bioengineered kidney. It will be coordinated by the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University (UM), while closely collaborating with TU Eindhoven, Utrecht University, Leiden University, and other RegMed XB partners.
